The One Where We Catch Up

After a four month hiatus from my little internet space, I'M BACK! It wasn't planned but life  happens and blogging unfortunately has had to take a back seat, and that's okay. Not much has happened in those four months but I thought I'd fill you in nonetheless.

(excuse this horrid snap but this day was super fun so idc)

Where do I begin? At the start of the year I made the decision that I wanted to go back to university after dropping out my last course almost a year ago. Although I haven't finalised my choices I have been doing the rounds of open days and flicking through prospectus after prospectus and website after website. So far it seems promising and I'm keeping my mind wide open to the change it will bring.

I've also been on my first little break of 2017. In February I visited Munich, Germany for the first time. This was a big step for me as I'm not a keen flyer in the slightest so was surprised when I made it through both the outgoing and returning flight with no major panic attack or issues. I had the best time; it is such a friendly city with amazing sights, architecture and history. It's not a place I thought of visiting initially, but it ending up being one of the best breaks ever. I'll have a blog post coming soon all about my trip so keep your eyes peeled!

What else is there that I can update you on? Err, I've been working loads, trying to save up for more little escapades to the continent - Amsterdam you're next! I've been trying my hand at other creative activities; I knitted some tiny stockings for my secret santa and I've been experimenting with calligraphy. I'm not remotely amazing at either but I'm proud of how far I've come with them both - not being a hugely creative person has somewhat hindered me trying new crafts. My photography is coming along quite nicely too, finally getting used to my camera and all its bells and whistles - I've planned some days out to get some nice shots (hopefully) so will maybe posts them here to share.

My blog has always been at the back of my mind. Eating away at my thoughts as to what I can do to make it my own, how to improve and in what direction to take it. Working out what to do with my blog has helped me in more ways than one. The aesthetic I want it to have has helped me figure out who I am as a person; something I have been quite unsure about over the past few years. I've realised that all I ever seem to want to do is help people and I want my blog to reflect this; I want this blog to be a place where people can come for a chat, laugh, advice and comfort.

  1. I'm glad you have been doing many fun things whilst you have been away. I am not keen on flying either so it's good to go places even if they are not that far! xx

  2. The beach in the photos above looks inviting. Kudos on your decision-making. It's nice that you've gotten in some travel in addition to developing your creative talents. I like doing a bit of calligraphy myself, but seem to struggle with getting just the right ink, paper, and keeping fresh clean tips on my artist's pens. Your photography is beautiful, and I love your blog. Best wishes for your time at uni - and your possible visit to Amsterdam. I'll be watching for your post on your visit to Munich, Germany :)
