Tis the season of glitz, glitter and ALL THE SPARKLES! I'm an avid wearer of a brown toned smokey eye but as it's Christmas I've switched it up and thought I would share my ingredients for a festive yet extremely wearable silver smokey eye make up look. Warning - it's a shimmery one.

First of all prime I prime my eye lids using my normal primer and dabbing a small amount of the Max Factor Masterpiece Precision Eyeshadow in the shade Star Dust onto the lids, blending in with my finger. Blending this out creates a subtler shade as when first applied is quite dark (too dark to use as a base) but working it out with your finger creates a subtle, smooth grey base.
Then comes in my beloved Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay. With this little gem I use 5 shades which I love as it means not having to chop and change between loads of palette or individual shadows. For application I use the same Real Techniques Blending brush as for a smokey eye you blending is key so all colours are mixed anyway (and it's quicker wah so lazy). I use the shade Verve on the mid lid, blending inwards to the inner corner and then the shade Pistol on the outer lid - making sure these are blended well. With the crease I use Tease along the inner two thirds and Blackout on the outer third, again making sure these are well blended in the crease and with the main shadow on the lid. Finally from this palette I use the shade Foxy to highlight my brow bone - it is a lovely light champagne shade which is fab for highlighting.
To add the final touches to this look I use the Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow in Crystal and using my finger tip I dab this all over the lid - yes, MORE SHIMMER! I love this cream eyeshadow as you don't need to use a lot to achieve your desired effect and it is SO easy to work with - love it. I then line my eyes with my trusty Maybelline Master Ink Matte eyeliner and a few lashings of Benefit's Rollerlash Mascara.
Voila, all done!

I'd love to try a silver smokey eye! My usual go-to is a deep purple or rose gold smokey. Perhaps a new years resolution?! x

I love the Naked 2 palette, possibly my favourite of all their palettes! I recently started the Benefit Roller Lash mascara & love that too. I haven't gotten on quite so well with the MaxFactor Excess Shimmer Shadows as they tend to crease on me. You've given me the idea to try it as a pop on the centre of my lid to avoid the generally creasy areas though! Xx
